The clerk's online portal, Westchester Records Online, has civil cases from 1980 and criminal cases from 1978 to the present. Look for "DA" before the index or indictment number to find criminal cases. Free public viewing terminals are available for documents filed from 2002 onward. Documents filed before 2002 are at an off-site archive and need to be scheduled for delivery.

Search fees are $10.00 per index or file number. The first certified legal record costs $10.00 and each additional one is $5.00. Cash is not accepted for mail requests. Standard copies are $0.25 per page, and court documents cost $0.65 per page. Certified copies are $10.00 each. Matrimonial records are sealed and only available to parties or their attorneys. Other sealed records need a court order.

Four judges sit on the bench: Hon. Mary Jo Blanchard, Hon. John P. Collins Jr., Hon. Christopher R. Daniele, and Hon. Eric P. Press. The Criminal Records Department is on the first floor of the courthouse. Public access terminals are available for case searches. You need a case record request form with the defendant's name and case number. Court calendars and dockets are available for public viewing.

The court handles misdemeanor criminal records, violations, traffic offenses, and preliminary felony hearings. After arraignment, felony cases go to Westchester County Court in the same building complex on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Record Sealing

Dismissed cases seal under CPL 160.50 automatically. Under CPL 160.59, up to two convictions can be sealed after 10 years. Sex offenses and violent felonies are excluded. Youthful offender adjudications stay sealed under CPL 720.35.

The Clean Slate Act, effective November 16, 2024, adds automatic sealing. Misdemeanors seal 3 years after sentencing or release. Felonies seal after 8 years. Sex crimes, violent felonies, and homicides are excluded.
