The clerk's office handles court records for Supreme Court and County Court cases. This is where felony criminal records are filed and stored. The clerk also issues birth, death, and marriage certificates, processes passport applications, and administers the DMV.
The Schuyler County Court is at 105 Ninth Street, Unit 35, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. The phone is 607-228-3350. Hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Judge Matthew C. Hayden presides. Michele Getman is the Chief Clerk. County Court handles felony prosecutions and has limited authority over civil cases up to $25,000. It also accepts appeals from town and village courts.

Criminal Record Sealing
Dismissed or acquitted cases seal automatically under CPL 160.50. For convictions, CPL 160.59 allows sealing up to two convictions after 10 years. Sex offenses and violent felonies are excluded. Youthful offender adjudications are confidential under CPL 720.35.
The Clean Slate Act, effective November 16, 2024, provides for automatic sealing. Misdemeanors seal after 3 years. Felonies seal after 8 years. Serious offenses are excluded.
