Criminal records for the Town of Greece are held by the Greece Town Court and by Monroe County offices in Rochester. Greece sits in the 7th Judicial District, and four part-time justices handle local criminal matters at the Town Court on Vince Tofany Boulevard. Monroe County Handles Greece Criminal Cases
Greece is part of Monroe County. The Monroe County Clerk at 39 W. Main Street in Rochester keeps felony criminal records from County Court and Supreme Court. Call (585) 753-1600 for the clerk's office. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Electronic search terminals are set up for public use in the office. Criminal records from the 1980s to the present are readily available.
Monroe County Court sits at the Hall of Justice in Rochester. The County Court Clerk can be reached at (585) 371-3260. The Monroe County Sheriff at (585) 753-4178 runs an inmate lookup and an active warrants database, both free to the public online. The Monroe County District Attorney's office at (585) 753-4500 also maintains certain case records.
The sheriff's office charges $20.00 for incident reports. FOIL copies are $0.25 per page. Certified copies run $5.00 to $10.00. These fees apply to records held at the county level for cases that started in Greece.
Greece Town Court
The Greece Town Court is at 1 Vince Tofany Blvd, Rochester, NY 14612. Call (585) 227-3110. Office hours run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The payment window has different hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Four part-time justices hear cases on different days. Judge Brian Marianetti sits on Thursdays at 10:00 AM. Judge Shannon Pero holds court on Wednesdays at 5:00 PM. Judge Brett Granville hears cases Tuesdays at 5:00 PM. Judge Debra Crowder sits on Fridays at 9:00 AM. Each judge has a specific clerk. The court handles misdemeanor criminal records, traffic violations, infractions, and felony arraignments. It does not do background checks. If you need a background check, use the NYS CHRS for $95. The court can give you a Certificate of Disposition for cases it handled. Email requests for court adjournments are not accepted. You must call 585-227-3110 or have your attorney contact the court.
The Greece Town Clerk at (585) 225-2000 handles FOIL requests. You can submit them online, in person, by mail, or by email. A FOIL form is posted on the town website at greeceny.gov. FOIL copies cost $0.25 per page or actual reproduction cost, whichever is less.

For a statewide search, the Criminal History Record Search costs $95 per name. Results come back the next business day. This covers all 62 counties and every court level. The DCJS Record Review is the only way to get an official fingerprint-based rap sheet. Only you can request your own record through DCJS.
Record Sealing
Dismissed cases seal automatically under CPL 160.50. No motion needed. Under CPL 160.59, you can apply to seal up to two convictions after 10 years. Sex offenses and violent felonies do not qualify. Youthful offender adjudications stay confidential under CPL 720.35.
The Clean Slate Act took effect November 16, 2024. Misdemeanors seal 3 years after sentencing or release. Felonies seal after 8 years. Certain serious offenses are excluded. DCJS runs this process for all New York counties. It may take up to 3 years to fully roll out.

Greece Town Court has downloadable plea forms and small claims forms on the town website. The Greece Police Department offers fingerprinting services for people who need their own DCJS record.
